Mr. Nares has been in practice for more than 30 years. He started out practicing exclusively in the area of criminal defense. After 10 years, he included family law cases in his practice. He has tried over 100 cases before a jury in addition to many bench trials.

Legal activities
In addition to a busy law practice and as a result of recent changes to the federal constitution of many Latin American countries, Tom Nares has been asked to teach trial skills to hundreds of lawyers and judges throughout Latin America, through his association with the California Western School of Law (“ACCESO CAPACITACION”), the Conference of Western Attorneys General (“CWAG”), the National Law Center for Inter-American Free Trade, and though a joint program with the University of San Diego and the Universidad National Autonoma de Mexico (“UNAM”) in Mexico City, in addition to many other organizations, both domestic and abroad.
Mr. Nares has been named “Top Lawyer” in the area of family law by Palm Springs Life magazine, for 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
